Mr. Michael Carrol (Chairman)
Michael Carrol is a graduate of Agriculture, from the Njala University College. He started his professional career with Unilever working variously in Sierra-Leone and Nigeria in different capacities as a management staff.
He is the Chairman of Sierra-Leone National Petroleum Company and Access Bank (SL) Ltd amongst other companies
Mr. Tunde Balogun (Country Managing Director)
Tunde Balogun was appointed MD/CEO of Access Bank (SL) Ltd. in February 2008. He has worked with Access Bank for over six years and served in various capacities, including Group Head, Public Sector and Group Head Commercial Bank, Abuja. He was Group Head, Commercial Bank, North Central, supervising eight of the bank’s branches spread across the geopolitical zone before his current assignment.
A seasoned and astute banker, he started his professional career at Price Waterhouse in 1992, working in the firm’s Business Advisory Group. He joined Guaranty Trust bank in 1995 and moved to Comet Merchant Bank (now Finbank) in 1999.
A 1990 graduate of Chemical Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Tunde worked as plant engineer at the L-A-B plant of Kaduna Refinery during his NYSC.
Tunde has been married for 12 years and they are blessed with three children. He is widely traveled and enjoys traditional and jazz music.
Mr. Taukeme Edwin Koroye (Non-Executive Director)
Taukeme Edwin Koroye is a graduate of Business Administration from the University of Lagos and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria(ICAN). He began his banking career with Nigeria International Bank Limited (NIB) now Citibank in 1987, having obtained four years professional accounting experience with Price Water House (now PriceWaterHouseCoopers). At NIB, he worked in several department including Corporate Finance, Corporate Banking, Internal Control, International Trade and Treasury Operations, and he rose to the position of Deputy General Manager, Operations and Technology prior to joining Access Bank in 2002.
He has attended various training programmes, both within and outside the country including Executive Programmes at INSEAD, IMD and Harvard Business School.
Mr. Melvin Chalobah (Non-Executive Director)
Mr. Melvin Humpah Chalobah is an astute banker with over 30 years experience spanning commercial and development banking. He started his career with Depositors Trust Company in Maine, U.S.A under an international student exchange programme. In 1968, he joined Barclays Bank, Freetown, Sierra Leone and was later deployed to Liverpool and Northumberland Avenue branches of Barclays Bank International respectively for a senior management course in banking.
In 1972, he joined African Development Bank (ADB), Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire where he rose to the level of Deputy Director and served at different periods as ADB’s Resident Representative to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and as Deputy Resident Representative of the ADB to the United Kingdom (UK).
Mr. Chalobah holds a degree in Economics from Durban University and postgraduate certificates in banking from the Institute of Bankers of England. He has attended many training programmes in Banking and Financial Institutions in the U.S.A and England, and served as a trainer in Financial Management procedures for development projects to African Countries. He was Sierra Leone’s High commissioner to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland with non-residential accreditations to Ireland, Greece, Portugal, Cyprus, Spain, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
Dr. Eva Hancile-Roberts (Non-Executive Director)
Dr. Eva Susan Hanciles-Roberts is a consultant Anaesthetist with Cannaught Hospital, Freetown and doubles as a Lecturer at UNFPA Nurse Anaesthetist Training programme, Sierra Leone. With over two decades of combined work experience, she has practiced in both private and general hospitals in Sierra Leona, the United Kingdom and Republic of Island.
She is a professional member of the Sierra Leone Dental and Medical Association, a business member of the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture; and a winner of the first Business Bomba Competition for entrepreneurs 2009/10.
Eva holds a BSc. (Hons) Combined Studies, Applied Science, from Brighton Polytechnic and MB Bch, BAO from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland respectively. She is a Fellow of Cardiac Anaesthesia Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Ontario, Canada and has certifications in Advance Life Support and Paediatric Advance Life Support from King’s College Hospital and in Medical Hypnotherapy from London college of Clinical Hypnotherapy
Mrs. Iyabo Soji-Okunsanya (Non-Executive Director)
Mrs. Iyabo Soji-Okusanya is the Group Head, Telecommunications and Power Division, Access Bank Plc. She has over sixteen years banking experience covering Credit and Management; Human Capital Management and Telecoms Financing. She has spent the last 10 years in positioning the Bank's Telecom Group as a key player in its target market segment in the Nigerian financial services sector.
Prior to this, she had worked with Magnum Trust Bank (now Sterling Bank Plc) and had her professional training at KPMG (then Peat Marwick Ani Ogunde & Co) Lagos, gaining audit experience after her certification as a professional Accountant.
Iyabo is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) respectively. She is an alumnus of Institute of Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland and INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. She has her first degree in Accounting from University of Ilorin and has participated in several professional development trainings locally and internationally.
Mr. Iliyas Adewale (Executive Director / COO)
Mr. Ayodele Michael Carrol is a successful business mogul and the Proprietor of M&G Enterprises, Freetown. He is also the incumbent Chairman, National Petroleum Company Limited and serves as on the Boards of Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone, FABRA Construction Company Limited and AFCON Limited respectively.
He has served in various capacities in both private and public institutions in Sierra Leone including being the helmsman at Rokel Holdings Limited, Freedom; Project Investment Manager at UAC (Unilever) and British High Commission Commercial Officer. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Njala University College, Sierra Leone.
He is also a member of the Njala University Development Board and was instrumental to repositioning Kingsway Rendezvous, now branded Mr. Briggs in Nigeria.
